This is how it all started…
There’s not much about me. I’m an older millennial with a LOT of education (like society told us to get when we were kids) but with a *twist*: I’m so glad and grateful to God I am well educated. I have two master’s degrees and a bachelor’s and an associate’s. I work in the fields I got my degrees in and I have no complaints about being smart about skills going hand in hand with education and not just experience. I enjoy the fact that in college I opted for the no stress route and determined money and the American Dream were not going to be my catalyst to my idea of success. Instead, I wanted a tiny house to be my goal (this was circa 2008 during the financial crises), after having roommates, and put my head down and went to work while in school. I never did go for that tiny house though! Rather I lived with roommates and paid at most $450/month rent trying to figure out the point of working (during my first full-time job as an engineer). In 2013 I found the FIRE movement and Jacob Lund Fisker and got an idea of why I was not impressed with the corporate ladder and fancy titles. In 2017 I got my big time corporate job, making peanuts and decided to postpone FIRE to go to concerts and travel. Turns out it was a beautiful idea because now the world is Hozier’s Wasteland and I can FIRE to my heart’s content!
In this blog I document the beginning of my FIRE funds, where I got the concept from, and some of my business and fun ventures along the path to FIRE!
